Dialogue[edit]
- Ah, the aromatic combination of fresh air and ripening grapes on the vine makes me feel rather ebullient. Perhaps later I shall open one of the bottles from the 1301 vintage and toast the day.
- Uh...sure. I'm guessing you work here at the vineyard.
- Well deduced. I improve our process to ensure that every bottle we produce is a work of art. Each one a symphony and I am the conductor.
- Why did you get involved in winemaking?
- To gamble with the weather for the perfect grape, to nurture the grape until it is ready to be pressed, to find that exact moment to bottle—it's an equation like no other. It's beautiful, really.
- So, care to share any of your delicious secrets with me?
- It is inadvisable for me to disclose our secrets. That said, I would be willing to trade a recipe to make a fine wine in exchange for services rendered.
- Ah, yes. The local pirates apparently enjoy invading the vineyard and blowing up whatever they can. Crush their grapes, so to speak, and I'll be willing to sell you a bottle of our finest wine.
- I'll keep that in mind. Thanks.
Services rendered? This is more than doing chores, I'm guessing.
- How sour! You're just like those malodorous pirates who stomp in and ruin our vineyard. If you ever desire a bottle from me, stop those ruffians by using a thick, blunt instrument. Like your head!
- Yeah. I'll think about [sic] with my big, dumb head. Idiot.
Give me the recipe, or I'll bottle and cork you.
- Okay. Let me ask you something else.
- That's understandable. Thanks for your time.
- As long as it tastes good, I'm happy. See you later.
- That's music to my ears. Care to share a little knowledge? (Same as "So, care to share any of your delicious secrets with me?" above)
- I'm sure they're all masterpieces. Good-bye.
- Never mind.
