Locations[edit]
Text[edit]
- By the waterfall southeast of the Rata Novus waypoint
- The renowned golemancer Zinn was sentenced to 10 years of banishment from asuran lands. Other than attempted regicide, his most notable work was the P.O.X.'s Reactor Blast.
- Turn page.
- The Great Zinn was banished as an attempt to eliminate the competition. However, his story has a fortuitous ending as the sham of a trial motivated by Zinn to found we reside in today.[verification requested]

- In Decayed Hive
- A krewe surveying to the northwest discovered a species of arthropods. These creatures resemble the "chak" spoken of in local hylek lore.
- Turn page.
- Upon discovering the field golem, these creatures grew exceptionally aggressive. The krewe was forced to flee, and city defenses were engaged to repel the pursuing chak.

- In the Rata Novus Lane
- These chak continue to seek out weaknesses in our defense. They show no hesitation; they are willing to sacrifice dozens—even hundreds—of lives to reach their goal.
- Turn page.
- On the bright side, this has pushed our defense researchers to new heights. We have broken new ground in laser and shield technology, and our ballistic cannons now operate at 800% efficiency!

- North west of the Rata Novus waypoint
- The chak continue to prove resilient. Our surface-based defenses slowed their advances for a time, but it seems we underestimated the chak's ability to burrow.
- Turn page.
- To seal the weakness in our defenses and prevent the chak from burrowing into the city, I have established a perimeter of seismic disruptors. Eat that, bugs!
- Turn page.
- Complete schematics of these devises are available for review and scrutiny, but in laymen's terms, they send a pulsing vibration that disorients the chak.
- Turn page.
- This grid covers the entire city, so no one needs to worry about a chak bursting through the ground—assuming there are no power fluctuations in the perimeter defenses.

- Southeast of the word "Rata Novus" on the map
- Defenses are falling across Rata Novus. The chak feed on anything with a magical signature, and our power crystal nodes are a prime target. The city is experiencing regular blackouts.
- Turn page.
- Researchers are trying to tie our power systems directly into the ley lines. If we can master this technology, it would give us infinite renewable energy. Imagine the raw power!
