The Mysterious Bartender can be found serving tonics on the western side of Mistlock Sanctuary. Accepting a drink will transform the player into a random Fractals-themed form for 20 seconds.

Dialogue[edit]
- Ah, another mistwalker. Welcome to the Mistlock Sanctuary. May I prepare you a drink?
- Sure, I'll have a drink.
- Of course—but please drink responsibly. These tonics tend to alter the shape of the patrons who drink them.
- I'm sure I can handle it. (Applies Transformation and transforms player into one of the forms below)
- Never mind. I'm thirsty, but not THAT thirsty.
- Actually, I probably shouldn't. I'm not feeling quite myself. (If already under the effects of Transformation)
- I have some questions for you.
- It would be my pleasure to answer your questions. What would you like to know?
- My question is, "Can I have a drink?" (Same as "Sure, I'll have a drink.")
- Who are you, and what is this place?
- Me? I'm not sure—I change from time to time as visitors come and go. Put simply, this is a safe haven for those who wander the Mists, and I offer rest and comfort to the lost and weary.
- So... we are in the Mists?
- Good news! I don't know if it's all the unbound magic, or because the Mistlock Sanctuary has connected this world to the Mists for so long, but it's established a foothold in both worlds.
- Go on...
- So now it exists in both worlds. The passkey is still required—it's a members-only type of place—but once you're in, you can get back out by accessing any of the waypoints in Tyria proper.
- I have other questions. (Returns to "It would be my pleasure to answer your questions.")
- Bored now. I'm leaving.

- Bored now. I'm leaving.
- The "Mistlock Sanctuary"? Is this connected to the Fractals of the Mists?
- In a way. This was one possible future of many, before that poor asura's machines forced time to flow in an endless, tragic loop. The Mists show us who these people could have been, but never will be.
- Cryptic and confusing, my favorite combination. Can I ask another question? (Returns to "It would be my pleasure to answer your questions.")
- I don't think this is going anywhere. I'm leaving.
- How do I get back to Tyria?
- Remember, you can return to the physical world either by using the device at the center of the Mistlock Sanctuary, or you can simply jump to any existing waypoint in Tyria.
- I have other questions. (Returns to "It would be my pleasure to answer your questions.")
- Bored now. I'm leaving.
- I've changed my mind. Good-bye.
- I'll pass.

Notes[edit]
- While it may appear that his comments about using waypoints are incorrect, it is possible to access the Tyria world map by navigating to lower layers on the world map.
