Minister Arton is a minister loyal to Queen Jennah and a close friend of Legate Minister Caudecus Beetlestone. Despite his stance, Arton's reputation has suffered a blow from rumors accusing him of conspiring with the enemies of Divinity's Reach against the crown.
Biography[edit]
Personal story[edit]
Evidence uncovered during investigations in 1325 AE seemingly indicated that Arton had set up the fall of Falcon Company at the hands of centaurs to undermine the detente between humanity and the charr. However, thanks to further investigations by the Hero of Shaemoor, Arton was ultimately found innocent and released from custody. Arton had been set up by his supposed friend Caudecus, though there was no proof and the minister remained unaware of this fact.
Living World Season 2[edit]
During a party in 1327 AE, Arton made a brief appearance. He suggested that the bandits found throughout Kryta were connected to the White Mantle cult. He also believed that the cult ran the black market in Divinity's Reach, though he gave no insight into what led him to this theory. Arton also vouched for Queen Jennah when questioned by the Pact Commander about the queen's involvement with the sylvari terrorist Scarlet Briar, stating that Jennah had politely refused to allow Scarlet to study with the designer of the Watchknights and that the sylvari had become livid as a result.
Living World Season 3[edit]
After Caudecus Beetlestone revealed himself as the Confessor of the White Mantle, Arton was put under much scrutiny due to his then-broken friendship with the former Legate Minister. Despite this, he continued proclaiming confidence and support in Queen Jennah, who in turn offered her trust.
When Jennah called a Meeting of Ministers and the White Mantle laid siege to Divinity's Reach from Lake Doric in 1330 AE, Arton was among the first to be slain by turncoat Ministers and Ministry Guards. Upon Arton's death, Jennah cried out his name in dismay and fought alongside the Pact Commander against the invaders. The White Mantle sympathizers and spies were ultimately driven back, and the siege ended with a crushing blow against the White Mantle forces and the death of Confessor Caudecus.
