Dialogue[edit]
- Welcome to Deverol Island. What brings you all the way out here?
- I'm just out exploring. What is this place?
- This island is my home. It's been in my family since 1244, when my grandfather purchased it during the settling of Lion's Arch.
- He bought the entire island?
- When Grandaddy Cobiah and his contemporaries reclaimed Lion's Arch, this was just a slab of rock jutting from a flooded bay. He got it for almost nothing, and folks still thought he was crazy.
- What do you do?
- The Deverols have been seafarers for as long as anyone can remember. Me, I prefer to stand on things that don't pitch and sway. So, my brother runs the family business, and I maintain the homestead.
- Sounds smart. Good-bye.
- Guess he got the last laugh. Good-bye.
- Thanks, that's all I wanted to know.
- (If in Order of Whispers)
- I'm traveling heretofore untraveled pathways.
- Then you're bound to discover heretofore undiscovered treasure. Hello, <Character name>. My contacts informed me that you might be stopping by. I have a message for you.
- I'm listening.
- There are powerful forces at work in the city, and they're not all immediately obvious. Trust no on, and keep your eyes open for shifting political currents.
- Can you be more specific?
- The council is in a constant state of flux. Its members will do anything to hold their positions, and some who want to be members will do anything to get there. And then, there's the Lionguard.
- What's up with the Lionguard?
- They're under great pressure. So far, they've managed to stay out of the war against the centaurs. Many believe they're wrong to do so, despite the imminent threat from Orr.
- What do you mean? Is Lion's Arch in danger?
- As the tide of undead creeps closer, they're beginning to leak into our water. It won't be long before Lion's Arch will have to defend itself from a full-on assault, I predict.
- Let's hope it doesn't come to that.
- I see. Good to know.
- Right. I'll stay alert.
- Don't worry. My eyes are wide open.
- Some other time. I have affairs to attend to.
- Just doing a little wandering and taking in the sights, thanks.
