Location[edit]
Dialogue[edit]
- First interaction
- Unbelievable. I thought she was lying to get me to show, but here you are—the commander, in the flesh. This changes things...
- Juwon Ral? Balam Ri sent me to collect records from the archives.
- So it seems. I'll tell you what I told her: this request is tied up in committee. Somebody important wants these to stay buried.
- You're saying there's no way to access them, then?
- Oh, no. I can get them for you. I just need a little help with a project of my own, first. If I am to risk the ire of said individual.
- Okay, what is it?
- Let's say I have a vested interest in disrupting the modern Purist movement's activities. I have intel on their operations. You stop them, and I sneak these records out of the archives. Sound fair?
- All right. You have a deal.
- Glad to hear it. Balam Ri had three requests, and I have three leads, so I'll deliver those records one-for-one. I'll share your intel so you can help get to the bottom of what they're plotting.
- I have a few questions.
- Go ahead. Just keep your voice down—can never be sure who's listening.
- I had something else to say.
- What you're asking for doesn't sound like Ministry of Archives work...
- Very astute. Of course, if I were an undercover agent with the Ministry of Intelligence, I'd have to deny it, wouldn't I?
- I think we understand each other. I have more questions.
- Say no more.
- Why not just give me the records? Wouldn't that also hurt the Purists?
- True, but disrupting their operations will hurt them even more. I'd like to believe you'd do this out of a deep sense of justice, but a little incentive never hurts, no?
- Mmm. I had more questions.
- I'll be back.
- Never mind.
- Have those records ready for when I get back.
- This doesn't sound like Ministry of Archives work...
- Very astute. Of course, if I were an undercover agent with the Ministry of Intelligence, I'd have to deny it, wouldn't I?
- I think we understand each other.
- I'm not getting involved with this.
- No deal.
- Subsequent interactions
- We meet again. have you reconsidered my offer?
- All right. You have a deal.

- While working on disrupting Purist operations
- You're back. With good news, I hope?
- (If Unmask the Purist sympathizers or Subdue the Purist operatives! have not been completed for the objective "Foil the purist plot in the monastery gardens.")
- Can you tell me anything more about this Purist plot in the monastery?
- There's a gathering of the well-to-do, rising stars I believe, most likely in the gardens just outside the monastery. Look for a party, or a festival—somewhere with a good view.
- There was something else.
- Got it.
- (If completed "Foil the purist plot in the monastery gardens.")
- (If the objective "Root out saboteurs in the New Kaineng City archives district." is not complete.)
- What do you know about these purists in the archives building?
- Ah, yes. My advice? Watch the archives building, and wait. Minister Preeda will surely let you know when they're about to make their move.
- There was something else
- Got it
- (If completed Search the Ministry of Archives for Purist propaganda)
- I stopped the saboteurs in the archives.
- That should quiet things down here for a while. One good turn deserves another—it should be waiting in your mail.
- There was something else.
- Thanks.
- (If Escort Gale Hookbeak to the abandoned shrine has not been completed for the objective "Drive Purists out of their secret meeting place in the Jaya Bluffs.")
- Know anything more about this hidden Purist meeting place?
- My sources tell me they're gathering at an old tengu ruin, though I'm not sure where. The Sensali there are gathered on a pilgrimage of some sort, I believe. Try following them?
- There was something else.
- Got it.
- (If completed Escort Gale Hookbeak to the abandoned shrine)
- I drove off the Purists in the Jaya Bluffs.
- Nice work. Now for my end of the bargain. Careful, it's a little fragile.
- There was something else.
- I'll take good care of it.
- I'll be back.
- After finishing the events
- That was the last record Balam Ri requested, so I suppose that's the end of our dealings. Best of luck tracking down the rest of those texts. I'm looking forward to reading the final copy.
- Thanks.
