Dialogue[edit]
- During Escort Historian Vermoth to the Altar of Tempests
- If I can disable the statue in the Cathedral of Zephyrs, it will stop powering the corrupted statues of Dwayna throughout Orr. I'll need your protection. Wll you help?
- Of course.
- During Defeat the Risen Priestess of Dwayna
- It's fascinating to see a priestess of Dwayna from ages past—even if she's undead. I wonder if her attire is authentic, or if the corruption affected it...
- Well, the corruption affected her behavior. She's trying to kill us!
- Right! Sorry. Clearly, we must defeat the priestess before we can reach the Altar of Tempests and perform the ritual. I'm afraid I have no knowledge of her weaknesses. She's like nothing I've ever seen.
- I'll figure something out.
- Her attire? It's her weapons I'm worried about...
- If Drive Malchor to the Altar of Tempests is ready to start
- Strange. Malchor was furious about the temple's corruption. That implies that he's not in Zhaitan's thrall. I wonder... Anyway, we need him to return, so we can break the shield around Dwayna's statue.
- I'll bring Malchor back. Just show me where to find him.
- Malchor's spirit resides near the location of his death, in the sea west of here. You'll probably have to force him to return here. Then we must convince him to break his seal.
- Got it. Thanks.
- You know all about this stuff, right? Can I ask you something?
- I have extensively studied Orrian history, with a focus on religion and culture. What would you like to know?
- What just happened here?
- I tried to break the connection between this statue and the smaller ones throughout Orr, but Malchor has placed some sort of seal on it. He's the only one who can bring it down.
- Then I'd better find him right away. Where is he?
- I have another question.
- Thanks for the information.
- Who is Malchor? And why does he care about Dwayna so much?
- It's tragic, truly. Malchor was a famous sculptor in his time. Dwayna appeared to him one day, commanding that he sculpt her image. Malchor tried for years, but could never do justice to his vision of the goddess.
- What did he do?
- He went mad. He sculpted statue after statue, but none of them matched Dwayna's beauty. Finally, in despair, he threw all the statues off the temple cliff into the sea and leapt off after them. A tragic waste.
- That's terrible. No wonder he doesn't want to come back. Where is he now?
- No wonder he's so angry. You better tell me where he is so I can get him to the temple.
- I have another question.
- Thanks for the information.
- You were about to say something before about Malcor[sic] being uncorrupted.
- Well, he's clearly insane, but he's not controlled by Zhaitan. It might have something to do with his death occurring before the cataclysm and his connection to the gods being so powerful. But I'm just hypothesizing.
- Understood. Well, I'd better go fetch him. Where is he?
- I have another question.
- Thanks for the information.
- Actually, I think I've heard all I want to know.
- I'm sure someone else will do it.
- After defeating the Statue of Dwayna
- After everything I've witnessed here in Orr, I may have to write a book of my own. Assuming I survive, that is.
- Don't talk like that. Now, do you have anything for trade?
- Thank you. You'll be in the book, of course.
- Of course.
You'll be fine. I can't wait to read about your adventures.
- I know what you mean.
- When the event Protect the Cathedral of Zephyrs begins
- My studies didn't prepare me for this.
- I know the feeling.
