Maintenance 12 July 2023

• Upgraded MediaWiki from version 1.38.6 to 1.38.7.

Maintenance 17 January 2023

• Upgraded MediaWiki from version 1.38.4 to 1.38.5.
  • Extension:PageForms was updated from 5.4 to 5.5.1.

Maintenance 28 November 2022

• Two changes have been made to the wikis' job runner services (each wiki has a dedicated service) to attempt to resolve the unparsed Semantic MediaWiki queries. In summary:
  • The first is to have the services handle their respective jobs sequentially rather than doing a few in parallel.
  • The second change is to have the runners handle all their queues' current jobs of a certain "job type" before moving on to the next type, in a specific order of job types.

Maintenance 20 October 2021

• Upgraded MediaWiki from version 1.35.3 to 1.36.2.
• Configuration variables changed for:
  • $wgLoopsCountLimit = 1000 to mitigate an issue within mw:Extension:Loops which placed an unintentionally lower limit on the number of possible iterations per page.

Maintenance 6 October 2021

• Configuration variables changed for:
  • $wgAbuseFilterEmergencyDisableThreshold = 2 # (default is 0.05)
  • $wgAbuseFilterEmergencyDisableAge = 86400 # (same as default)
  • $wgAbuseFilterBlockDuration = '3 days # (default is indefinite)
  • $wgAccountCreationThrottle updated to array syntax (count of 2, 86400 seconds)
  • $wgMaxImageArea increased from default value of 12.5 megapixels to 25 megapixels (e.g. 5000 x 5000 pixels). The previous default prevented the creation of thumnails for certain large images.

• mw:Manual:$wgWatchlistExpiry set to true.
  • Watchlist expiry can now be managed from a dropdown menu when saving pages, or from within the popup that appears after clicking watch at the top of any page. (per this request)
• mw:Extension:MultimediaViewer enabled.
  • Thumbnails now expand by default to fullscreen view when clicked on. This preference can be modified by either clicking on the settings cog when clicking on images, or via the Appearance > Images tab of Special:Preferences. (per this request)

• The localSettings.php variable $wgResourceLoaderMaxQueryLength has been removed to enable multiple resource loader modules to be loaded at once.
• The DynamicPageList3 extension has been updated to version 3.3.3. A patch has also been applied based on this commit.

• Upgraded Semantic MediaWiki from version 2.5.6 to version 3.1.5.
• Enabled the NewUserMessage, Popups, TextExtracts and PageImages extensions.
• Added the MobileFrontend extension.
• Multiple localSettings.php variables ($wgEnableUploads, $wgAutoConfirmAge, $wgMaxAnimatedGifArea, $maxLoops, $wgFooterIcons) were changed to be uniform across all wikis.

Maintenance 12 June 2017

• Changed a parameter of the MediaWiki software for the "Email this user" feature. Emails using this feature now put the sender's address in the Reply-To header instead of the From header to prevent accidental exposure of the recipient's address if email delivery fails.

• Upgraded MediaWiki from version 1.27.1 to version 1.27.2.
• Reverted a previous code change that fixed issues with ampersands, apostrophes and plus signs in article names, as MediaWiki version 1.27.2 includes a fix for this issue.

  • Upgraded the Maps extension for compatibility with Semantic Maps.
