Yes.

In this area of the world, there have been two dwarven races: the Deldrimor and the Stone Summit. Many believe they were among the earliest races in Tyria. Now, they're all dead.

All dead?

Well, actually, there's a bit of debate about that and plenty of rumors. What I do know for certain is that the grand majority died to save the world from the great Destroyer.

They sacrificed themselves?

Yes. Tyria was on the verge of annihilation by the Great Destroyer, but the dwarves had a ritual. The ritual worked, but it exacted a severe price. The dwarves paid it.
