Dialogue[edit]
- West of The Bitter Cold
- This quaggan came to a bitter end. It's holding a rolled-up sheet of papyrus in its arms. There's writing on it.
- Read it.
- 1 — In eldest Tyria, where ice covered the briny blue,
- — azure quaggans formed in the goo.
- Put it somewhere safe.
- At Joyless Falls
- Another lost quaggan. It is clutching a rolled-up sheet of papyrus. You pry it free and find writing on the inside.
- Read it.
- 2 — And swam in the waters of a living pool.
- — The fishes ate fishes — and quaggans too.
- Put it somewhere safe.
- South-west of Dragon's Teeth Hot Springs
- Another papyrus-carrying quaggan that met a dreadful end. Foo.
- Read the papyrus.
- 3 — Then quaggans learned to eat the fishes. Coo!
- — Time passed and the azure quaggans grew,
- — making pods for living in, out of driftwood and drool.
- Put it somewhere safe.
- North of Dragon's Teeth Hot Springs
- Whether it was Svanir or a corrupted ice storm, this quaggan never stood a chance. The papyrus in its grasp is preserved by the ice.
- Read the papyrus.
- 4 — One day, a day that no quaggan foreknew,
- — the first quaggan crawled ashore to get a better view.
- Put it somewhere safe.
- Underwater in Hailstone Floe
- Poor quaggan. Poor dead quaggan. The papyrus scroll it carried is still there, beside it.
- Read the papyrus.
- 5 — The cold wind froze patches of the quaggan's skin. Boo!
- — And turned it a mottled black and frosty hue.
- Put it somewhere safe.
- Underwater in Blizzard Basin
- Revealed at the heart of the ice is a dead quaggan and papyrus. The papyrus has writing on it.
- Read it.
- 6 — You may have heard of Khoofallaloo,
- — the ancestor quaggan who first broke through the ice on the pool
- — and breathed air unbreathed hitherto.
- Put it somewhere safe.
