Dialogue[edit]
- Welcome to the Arcane Council chambers. You appear inquisitive. Speak up. Please don't let my entourage intimidate you.
- Can you tell me about your role on the Arcane Council?
- I'm pleased to admit that I've demonstrated a talent for settling disputes among my fellow councillors.
- What have you done to settle Council disputes?
- My access to the Inquest has made it possible for me to outsource the Council's project vetting to them.
- You're a member of the Inquest?
- Indeed, and proud of it. My fellows happily share their vast, useful intellectual resources for good of our people.
- If this is your attempt at recruiting me, I'm not interested.
- I understand your concern, though you needn't fear. The Inquest doesn't insist on cooperation, only on noninterference.
- I...see. With that in mind, can you tell me again about your role on the Arcane Council? (same as "I'm pleased to admit...")
- Oh, I'm not afraid of the Inquest.
- The Council tolerates Inquest involvement in their decisions?
- The Council has become stagnant and indecisive. The Inquest has stepped in at my request to provide valuable resolution.
- What is it that you do for the Arcane Council, again? (same as "I'm pleased to admit...")
- That's disappointing.
- Didn't the villain Scarlet once belong to the Inquest?
- We knew that miserable, misguided sylvari as Ceara. A singularly brilliant student to be sure, but she was also dangerously defiant of authority and protocol. A pity. And a waste.
- Is it true she studied at all three colleges?
- Yes, and some of us are still bristling at the egregious absurdity of the Council's decision. She was brilliant for a sylvari, but compared to an asura? Scarcely more than a novelty.
- For a novelty, she's done a lot of damage.
- True. I'm proud to say the Inquest brushed her off faster than anyone else, but it still wasn't fast enough. Possessing knowledge in excess of one's cranial capacity is always dangerous.
- What is it that you do for the Arcane Council, again? (same as "I'm pleased to admit...")
- I'll take your word for it.
- What is it that you do for the Arcane Council, again? (same as "I'm pleased to admit...")
- Interesting.
- What is it that you do for the Arcane Council, again? (same as "I'm pleased to admit...")
- Interesting.
- This is a disturbing development.
- The Council is deferring decisions on project proposals to the Inquest? (same as "The Council tolerates Inquest involvement in their decisions?")
- That's disturbing.
- Interesting.
- I take it from your attire and companions that you are a member of the Inquest? (same as "Indeed, and proud of it...")
- Don't worry, I'm not intimidated by the Inquest.
