Locations[edit]
Dialogue[edit]
- At Balthazar's Reliquary
- Ah, here's someone I can ask. I've been wondering why there are so many Abaddon statues around when my history text says they were purged.
- A very good question. What do you think?
- It is my belief that here, they are integral to the system and could not be purged without breaking down the magical network. What do you think?
- Go on.
- Evidence indicates that this whole are[sic] was a sort of storage facility for the gods' history, relics, and mementos, not to mention their secrets.
- You're making sense to me.
- Although they hated Abaddon, they would not have cut off their own noses to spite their faces. They'd have wanted their valuables protected. Even by an Abaddon statue.
- We may never know the gods' minds, but that's as good a guess as any.
- I need to go. Good day to you.
- At Grenth's Reliquary
- What are these reliquaries?
- The better question is what were they?
- They're all destroyed except for Abaddon's. You should see if you can get into it. You never know what treasure you'll find.
- That is my goal. Wish me luck.
- I need to go. Good day to you.
- At Lyssa's Reliquary
- With an Oakheart near Balthazar's Vein:
- Will we ever find out why the great beings that ruled here left Tyria? Or where they went? So many questions!
- Part of me hopes so, but then I think of Balthazar...
- He's back, isn't he? Word about that came to us when your ship arrived. I hear he may be causing trouble.
- He hasn't been answering questions, that's for sure.
- I need to go. Good day to you.
- With a lone female Botanist at Secret Garden:
- I'm going to name you Daffodil. You'll find good company here next to Blossom and Lily.
- Keep listening in.
- And don't you worry. One day you will all bloom into beautiful flora. Just make sure not to fight over the sunlight–there's plenty enough for everyone here.
- Smile and leave.
- Walk away.
- With a male Botanist at Secret Garden:
- It's hard to believe that this whole continent used to be submerged.
- Well, it's not as hard when you've been to every part of it.
- Yeah, but imagine what it could have been if the humans hadn't destroyed it. It must have been so beautiful back then.
- Don't worry, we'll make it beautiful again. We just have to be patient.
- Yep.
- With a female Botanist at Secret Garden:
- These plants are beautiful. It's amazing that they've been able to grow so rapidly under such harsh conditions.
- They really are. I'm surprised they're here.
- Right? My theory is that they're a crossbreed of hydrophytes and calcifuge plants.
- Hydrophytes?
- Oh, sorry. Hydrophytes are plants that grow primarily in water. Calcifuge plants grow in acidic soil.
- Ahh, okay. Thanks for the quick lesson!
- Uh, yeah. Hydrophytes. Makes sense...
- Wish I had more time to stop and smell them. Bye now.
- At Melandru's Reliquary
- Male sylvari south of Watchman's Roost:
- Why am I here? I don't know. Every day, I regret it.
- Why did you come?
- I was sold the idea of being a hero, of saving Orr. But no one told me it would smell this bad, that we'd have bad food and water, or that we wouldn't be able to get a good night's rest.
- Welcome to heroism.
- I need to go. Good day to you.
- At Risen Lowlands
- Male sylvari near Camp Reclamation Waypoint:
- Oh, hi. Now that you're here, our project will garner attention from investors. We're cutting corners to make this expedition work.
- Your sacrifices will be worth it.
- The only investors we've found are asura who want to research here. We suspect they're planning a land grab. Once the undead are cleared out.
- Whatever gives you that idea?
- Their geographical surveys, maps of the landscape, and interest in relics and artifacts.
- I see. Well, good day to you.
- I see. Well, good day to you.
- Female sylvari near Camp Reclamation Waypoint:
- Commander, we've been trying to disintegrate the undead. When the dragon magic remains concentrated, the land doesn't heal.
- Ley-line magic?
- An interesting theory. Ley-line magic is Tyria's blood. It may have healing properties.
- I need to go. Good day to you.
- I need to go. Good day to you.
