Amira
“I remember now. Life's about kindness. Giving and returning it.
— Amira
Amira is an Awakened armorsmith found in the west of Sun's Refuge, mourning the loss of her brother Zor.[1] Helping her is part of the The Convergence of Sorrow I: Elegy collection. She later assists the Pact Commander in the battle against the Elder Dragon Kralkatorrik in Thunderhead Peaks.
Biography[edit]
In life, Amira was the older sister of Zor.[1] When they were both killed and Awakened to serve Palawa Joko, Zor became an officer working under General Argon in Argon Garrison while Amira became a renowned master armorer responsible for kitting out the whole Mordant Crescent.[2] Following Joko's demise in the Battle of Gandara and the Elder Dragon Kralkatorrik Branding the Argon Garrison and all the Awakened in there in 1331 AE, Amira mourned the loss of her king and her brother and created memorials for the latter.
After moving to Sun's Refuge which shielded the living and Awakened alike from Kralkatorrik's invading Branded, Amira learned that someone had smashed her memorials and scratched out Zor's name. In despair she decided to stop using her skills for anything as she did not see any point in continuing. When the Pact Commander approached Amira and asked her to make a memorial for someone who had lost a wife and a son, she initially refused the offer although she did take the beetle toy the Commander had found in the ruined home of the grieving family for safekeeping. However, when she saw how diligently the Commander replaced each of the vandalized memorials and presented her with the needed materials to make more, she eventually changed her mind and decided to finish the commission for the grieving widow by casting the toy into metal to make the requested memorial more appealing.
When visiting the finished memorials dedicated to the lost family members, Amira discovered that the Commander had set up a meeting between her and the grieving parent who turned out to be Eladaar, a Sunspear who in her drunken rage had been responsible for vandalizing the previous memorials. Angered at being deceived, the armorsmith lashed out at both the Sunspear and the Commander. Before Amira could leave, however, Eladaar realized that her actions had caused great pain to another grieving person, and she regretted causing trouble to the Awakened armorsmith. Amira witnessed the repenting Sunspear successfully plead her commanding officer, Second Spear Riyid, to arrange a place in Sun's Refuge where the Awakened would be allowed to grieve the loss of their king and loved ones in peace.
Realizing in turn that Eladaar had only caused harm out of grief, Amira forgave her, and the two former enemies exchanged stories of their respective loved ones while coming to understand one another's views better. Once Amira had grieved in peace, she greeted the Commander who she presented with one of her finest armors as well as the knowledge of how to craft more armor pieces as thanks. As she became less depressed and less hostile to people around her, she befriended many people, Awakened and otherwise, in Sun's Refuge and even got a new apprentice who helped her with commissions.
Some time later, Amira received another commission from the Commander who was looking for her to craft another set of armor to protect someone else. When the Commander eventually returned with aged armor and asked her to inspect it, Amira was surprised how the armor shared her design despite being centuries older than she was. When she attempted to hammer out a scratch she had spotted in the armor, the scratch returned the moment she stopped repairing it much to her confusion. Realizing that she could not be of any help to the Commander regarding the strange armor's properties, the armorsmith suggested the Commander seek out more knowledgeable people who were fascinated with old, magical things, which gave the Commander an idea to visit the Durmand Priory for advice.
When the Commander's many allies gathered in Thunderhead Keep to confront Kralkatorrik in battle in 1332 AE, Amira joined them along with other Awakened who wanted to contribute to the war effort. Inspired by the forging of the new Dragonsblood Spears, she researched the process and found a technique that allowed her to reinforce the Commander's armor against the Elder Dragon's magic albeit temporarily. Despite the allied forces' best efforts, however, the fight with Kralkatorrik ended in failure as the Elder Dragon successfully retreated back into the Mists after Branding much of the Auditorium where the battle had taken place in.

Dialogue[edit]
The Convergence of Sorrow I: Elegy[edit]
- Leave me alone.
- (either hasn't completing Storm Tracking or has received Amira's Lament but hasn't interacted with a Ruined Memorial yet/before requesting a Commission from her)
- Will do.
- (after completing Storm Tracking)
- Amira: There isn't a day I don't think of you. While I stand, I'll protect your memory.
- Amira: Travelers will see my memorials. They will ask, "Who is Zor?" He is missed. He was loved.
- Will do. (grants Amira's Lament)
- Before acquiring Amira's Complaint
- Gone, all gone...
- What is? (grants Amira's Complaint)
- Amira: My memorials! Destroyed! Someone found them—and...smashed them—scratched out Zor's name.
- Amira: What's the point? Nothing lasts. Let this anvil rust. Let my tools decay.
- After requesting a Commission from her
- Amira: Oh. It's you.
- Are you still making memorials? (grants Commission)
- Amira: No materials. No hope.
- <Character name>: I have a commission for you.
- Amira: I don't take commissions.
- <Character name>: Met someone who lost a wife and son. Giving her a memorial to remember them by might bring her some comfort.
- Amira: Why should I commemorate two strangers when Zor has no memorial of his own? Hmph.
- Amira: Even if I wanted to—which, to be clear, I very much don't—I ran out of materials.
- Amira: (sigh) Look. I was starting to make one more when I saw what happened to the rest.
- Amira: If you bring me the memorials to make more... If you replace the destroyed ones, and keep them intact...
- Amira: I might think about taking you seriously. Meanwhile, I'll keep this toy; I don't trust king killers. "Takar," huh?
- After starting the first restoration
- At the moment, I'm short some orichalcum.
- Here. (Requires 20 Orichalcum Ingots)
- Okay. (opens vendor window to buy Awakened Memorial)

- I'm surprised you kept your word. Here's the memorial.
- Speaking with Amira before placing the current memorial
- Amira: Have you placed the last memorial I gave you?
- I should do that.
- After placing the first Awakened Memorial
- Could use cured hardened leather, if you've got it.
- Here. (Requires 20 Cured Hardened Leather Squares) (opens vendor window to buy Awakened Memorial)
- Okay.
- After purchasing the second Awakened Memorial
- You're serious about this? Fine.
- After placing the second Awakened Memorial
- Fresh out of bolts of gossamer. Do you have any?

- Okay.
- After purchasing the fifth Awakened Memorial
- Hm. You remind me a bit of Zor. Eager, quick, and uncomplaining.
- After placing the fifth Awakened Memorial
- There you are again. I need cured hardened leather squares to keep working.
- Here. (Requires 20 Cured Hardened Leather Squares) (opens vendor window to buy Awakened Memorial)
- Okay.
- After purchasing the sixth Awakened Memorial
- Zor had a saying. "Friends, like enemies, wear all kinds of faces." Never figured out what he meant by it.
- After placing the sixth Awakened Memorial
- Fresh out of bolts of gossamer. Do you have any?
- Here. (Requires 20 Bolts of Gossamer) (opens vendor window to buy Awakened Memorial)

- After purchasing the seventh Awakened Memorial
- Here, I finished that special piece you asked for. The memorial. Cast the beetle toy in metal and everything.
- Approaching the two memorials at Venta Pass
- Eladaar: Ysri...Takar...and that's Takar's toy... But how?
- Eladaar: You! Awakened! Get out of here! This ground is sacred to the dead.
- Amira: You had me build this for a Sunspear...? Nice trick, Commander.
- Eladaar: You...made this? And the other one, that one looks familiar...
- Eladaar: Oh no.
- Amira: You. It was you! You tore them down! And you, so-called hero—never speak to me again.
- Eladaar: I—I deserve your anger. But, Kormir curse me, I will make this right.
- Amira: You can do nothing to make things right!
- Eladaar: Second Spear Riyid, I know I've disgraced the Sunspears. I'm not worthy of the name. But please, hear me.
- Eladaar: Awakened need a place to get stinking drunk and cry over their dead like the rest of us.
- Eladaar: If there's some corner of the sanctuary...
- Second Spear Riyid: Consider it done.
- Amira: I'm...sorry for your loss.
- Second Spear Riyid: Welcome home, Sunspear Eladaar.
- Amira: The world feels empty without them, doesn't it.
- Eladaar: I keep waiting for Ysri and Takar to come home.
- Speaking with Amira by the memorials
- I'll admit, I did not expect any of this.
- I was not completely honest with you.
- You weren't, but I'd have said no if you were.
- It won't happen again.
- When we are finished paying our respects to the dead, come find me at my workbench. I have something to show you.
- I'll do that.
- Speaking to her at her workbench, after obtaining Invitation
- Ah, you've returned.
- How are you doing?
- I remember now. Life's about kindness. Giving and returning it. Speaking of which, I have something for you.
- I can teach you to make more. Zor can wait a little longer.
- Speaking to her again after
- Always good to see you.
- You too, Amira.
- After completing the The Convergence of Sorrow I: Elegy but before starting the subsequent achievement
- Ahai, Commander. I have something for you, as a thank you of sorts.
- Oh? (opens vendor window to buy Vision of Equipment: Elegy Armor)
- You too, Amira.
The Convergence of Sorrow II: Requiem[edit]
- After completion of The Convergence of Sorrow I: Elegy
- Always good to see you.
- (before acquiring the Box of Gift Armor but after acquiring A Desperate Need)
- Amira, could I commission another set of armor? For protecting someone.
- That's what armor is for. Take this set—I just finished it, and there's more where that came from. Did you know they gave me an apprentice?
- They did?
- A quick learner. Almost as helpful as you.
- That's wonderful.
- (before acquiring Armorsmith's Hallmark but after acquiring Mist-Entangled Item)
- Amira, have you ever seen anything like this? (Offer Mist-entangled item)
- What in the world? These look like my own design! But it can't be. These are ancient.
- Sure they're not yours?
- No, there's my hallmark! How strange. May I borrow it for a moment?
- Sure.
- You too, Amira.
