I have to say while the picture is very nice, the size of the file is getting too large imho for a static JPG file. ~Sime 18:24, 8 September 2023 (UTC)

- No, I agree with Sime. As lovely as this picture is, nearly 6 MB for a .jpg is just too big, and I really don't think we need NPC pictures this big. Weapon pictures sure, NPCs, not quite so much. - Doodleplex 22:09, 8 September 2023 (UTC)
- Feels like you are rasist agains Kryptis. There is no reason why one set of images should be bigger priority than another set. There were no limits oversteped by uploading this image. It is a lovely image of Npc with good lightning and detail. An image that will last years without need of better uploads. - Large file sizes can be an issue to people with slower internet and/or phone users. I do not have slow Internet (for my country, at least) and still sometime struggle with these massive images, though afaik we do not have a big phone userbase (I know some wikis have over 50% and thus they have to optimize for phones), but still. There is a reason there is a limit for GIFs and animations and such they do not load fully unless you open them directly. ~Sime 22:57, 8 September 2023 (UTC)
- File size is not an issue. On the NPC page, in the NPC infobox, a smaller resized version of the original image is served (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/thumb/f/f7/Peitha.jpg/161px-Peitha.jpg) which is only 15.25 kB.
- If the user's device pixel density is ≥ 1.5×, then a slightly larger verison of the image is sent (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/thumb/f/f7/Peitha.jpg/241px-Peitha.jpg) which is 30.19 kB.
- If the user's device pixel density is ≥ 2×, then a slightly larger verison of the image is sent (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/images/thumb/f/f7/Peitha.jpg/322px-Peitha.jpg) which is 51.07 kB.
- Note these image sizes are much much smaller than the original file size.
- If a user clicks on the image to visit the file preview page (https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/File:Peitha.jpg), the size of the preview is 51.07 kB (or a 101.71 kB file for 1.5× screens, or a 173.92 kB file for 2× screens).
- The *only* time a user will ever be served the full-size original image is if they then click on that preview. Mattt (talk) 07:29, 9 September 2023 (UTC)
