Automated Tournaments
“Automated tournaments are public events. Be aware that you may be spectated or streamed while participating.
— In-game description
Automated Tournaments are team-based PvP events, and can be joined by any party meeting the size requirement. Teams fight for a variety of rewards and Qualifying Points for entry to an end of month tournament with unique and valuable prizes. Tournaments use the Swiss format, in which the number of rounds played is determined by the number of participating teams. At the end of the Swiss rounds, the top teams compete in a single-elimination bracket. Higher placements grant greater rewards.
Joining a tournament[edit]
- Registration opens 15 minutes prior to the start of the tournament. A full party of five is required.
- While in a group with the required number of players, select the desired tournament and hit "Enroll". Other players in your party will be prompted to join the tournament. Your team will not be enrolled unless they accept the prompt.
- Note: If a party member changes map instances while enrolled, the team will be taken out of the tournament and must enroll again.
- To participate in a monthly tournament, players are required to pay 100 qualification points. Ten minutes into the match, the counter will be reset to 0.
- Shortly after the tournament begins, the standard "Ready" window will pop up. If your team does not ready-up in time, you will forfeit the match and be unable to join that tournament.[1]
Daily tournaments[edit]
- The format is 5v5 Conquest, on a randomly selected Conquest map from Ranked PvP.
- A five-person party is required to register.
- Every match must be played to qualify for rewards.
- In the waiting time between the matches after the tournament starts, players can switch maps, switch characters, leave the party and restart Guild Wars 2 without being disqualified from tournament. They will still get the popup to join the next match in the tournament.
- A minimum of 4 teams need to sign up for the tournament to start.
- Schedule
Daily tournaments take place four times per day at different times depending on your region. These tournaments are functionally the same and there is no limit to how many daily tournaments you can join.

Notes[edit]
- Currently, the number of teams able to participate in a single tournament is capped at 100.
- If there are less teams than the maximum number of unique placement rewards in a tournament (16 in daily, 32 in monthly), then those teams will receive those placement rewards and NOT the participation reward.
- The "looking for group"-window has a "player vs player" - "tournaments" section where people usually search for other players to form groups about 15 minutes before an automated tournament starts. Common group name abbrevations "g" = gold ranking, "p" = platinum.
