Talk pages[edit]
When adding to a discussion page, don't delete other peoples' entries that were already on the page. —Mora 19:48, 25 December 2015 (UTC)
- Roger that! Thank you for letting me know. What is your preferred formatting for making edits so I make sure it is done correctly? Renaendel (talk) 19:45, 26 December 2015 (UTC)
- Hi. For reference, Mora was commenting on these edits. Some pointers:
- Talk pages can be edited via the section edit links (these appear near section titles), or by pressing edit at the top of the page.
- The bit that you see in the edit box includes previous comments and should only be added to, and previous comments left as they were (like you responded to Mora's comment here by adding your own text below)
- Every response to a comment should be indented using one more colon ":" than the person you're replying to, so a discussion ends up looking like a triangle of colons.
- You can check how your not-yet-submitted edit has changed the wiki source by pressing "show changes" below the textbox (lines that you've added will be highlighted in blue, removed lines in yellow - the parser isn't always great at telling the difference). Note that you still have to press "save page" when you're done.
- This should make some sense, a conversation is easier for later users to read if the context hasn't been removed accidentally :D -Chieftain Alex 23:25, 26 December 2015 (UTC)
